Searching by the change in employment allows you to identify companies that are either increasing or decreasing in size. This field allows you to search for locations based upon the percent change in number of employees over the last year.
As an example, to search for locations with more than 10% growth in employment, enter ‘10’ in the box. To search for locations with more than a 10% drop in employment, enter ‘-10’.
Employment can change for a variety of reasons, including expansion, downsizing, consolidation, mergers, and acquisitions. Be cautious using this search with very small companies. If a one-person firm adds a partner or an assistant, the Employment Trend will be 100%. By comparison, if a company with 100 employees hires ten more people, the trend will only be 10%.
